The year five class had a superb morning with Mr Grundy, PE teacher from Robert Smyth School as they undertook their training to be lunchtime leaders. They now have lots of ideas of activities they can run for the younger pupils at lunchtimes, thank you to Mrs Jones for organising the session.

Thank you to all who contributed to the bake sale and to those who made donations for Children In Need. We had some wonderful entries in the Bake Off, well done to Amira who was selected as the winner by the parents who attended worship. Thank you to all who purchased the pin badges made by a grandparent in our school, in total we are delighted to have raised £293.60.
The children have been involved in lessons and assemblies to mark anti-bullying week and joined pupils across the country to take part in odd socks day.
The whole school took part in the Remembrance service at St Peter’s Church led by Rev Rosie, thank you to the parents, grandparents and school governors who joined us and a special well done to Barnaby in year six who played The Last Post on his cornet.
We were very proud of the four pupils who took part in the contest at Robert Smyth Academy this week. Having worked with Mrs Southwood to prepare their poem Le Monstre they then recited the poem to an audience of pupils from other local schools. The children did brilliantly, thank you to Mrs Short for supporting them on the day.
We had the opportunity to meet with the trustees of the Hanbury Charity when we are able to thank them for the significant funds donated to our school over the past year. We are very fortunate to be supported in this way by the charity and in the last year these donations have funded our Taiko drums, new interactive boards and screens as well as many other aspects of our school.
It was a pleasure to welcome the parents of Alice Ruggles to join the House Captains and Governors to open the wonderful new story telling area on the field. A big thank you to Mr Hubbard and Mrs Bladon for all their hard work in creating this wonderful facility for our pupils and to the Alderman Newton Foundation for part funding the project.
Thank you to all who joined us for the Harvest festival, each class did well in sharing their songs and prayers. Thank you also to Rev Jonathan for his involvement. We had a wonderful collection of donations which are being delivered to Jubilee Foodbank in Market Harborough
Pupils, staff and governors enjoyed the chance to worship together with those from the three other schools in the Launde Deanery at a special service led by Bishop Guly of Loughborough and our school chaplain, Rev Alison Booker. It was a pleasure to host all at St Peter’s Church and then back at our school. Thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a special day.
The pupils enjoyed the chance to dress as a wide selection of animals as part of the Learn-AT celebration of Wear It Wild Day. All ten schools had chosen to take part in the fund raising event for the World Wildlife Fund.
