Well done to the pupils from year five and six who represented our school in the tournament held at Robert Smyth Academy. The children enjoyed the chance to compete against pupils from other local schools, thank you to Mr Knowles for coaching the team.

We were delighted to host Whizz Kids which is organised by Welland Valley Cycling Club. The afternoon involved twenty seven children joining in riding around the field and playground and playing various games. Thank you to the organisers and to Friends of Church Langton for their assistance in organising the day.
On a wonderfully sunny afternoon the new four plus pupils welcomed their parents to school. It was a chance to see how well the children have settled, meet with staff team and for the year six buddies to introduce themselves. A big thank you to FOCLs for organising this lovely event.
After a packed year of sports activities for all age groups, we are delighted to announce the school has been awarded the School Games Gold Award. This is testament to the hard work of Miss Parker, our PE leader, Mr Knowles, our sports coach and to the year six sports leaders.
A packed hall of parents, grandparents and siblings had a wonderful evening as the class performed ‘Summer Holiday’. In what was definitely one of the most entertaining plays ever performed at the school, the children did brilliantly with some wonderful musical performances and great acting. Well done to all of the children and to the staff who put in so much hard work to prepare for the performance.
The whole school enjoyed taking part in sports day with the weather being kind to ensure all the events could take place. A great crowd of parents and grandparents cheered on the children in a wide range of events. Well done to the sports leaders, Mr Knowles and Miss Parker for organising a great day.
Selected children from Year 4 took part in a Japan 2020 Olympics launch event at the University of Leicester this week. They took part in a range of activities that aimed to promote Japanese language, sport and culture, including Taiko drumming, calligraphy and a Japanese language session. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and did a fantastic job of representing our school.
Year five enjoyed a wonderful experience as they performed ‘Peck’, a ten minute opera, as part of the Snappy Opera production at the Pavillions in Wicksteed Park. After working with the staff from Mahogany Operas over the last half term, the children closed the show after seeing performances from four other Learn-AT schools. Thank you to all the staff who helped to prepare and the support the children for this superb opportunity.
The pupils in year four took part in the Leicestershire Music Hub Joint School Choir. This is a highlight of the musical calendar for the pupils at our school and the class should be very proud of their achievements. Thank you to Mr Kirkland, Mrs Hollis and Mrs Harrison for all of the preparation, rehearsals and supporting the children on the night.
Pupils from years five and six took part in the annual retreat to Launde Abbey along with children from other local schools. The event, organised by our school chaplain, Rev Alison Booker, involved the pupils taking part in different elements of worship while exploring the wonderful grounds of Launde Abbey. Thank you to Mrs Clarke for accompanying the children.
