Well done to the girls from years five and six who represented the school in the tournament hosted by St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School. The team played with a great team spirit throughout, scoring some excellent goals and finishing as runners-up in the tournament which involved six different schools.
The pupils in years three, four and five will be performing our Easter play to parents and carers. Ticket information will be sent out two weeks before the event.
The children had a busy day taking part in lessons and activities to mark world book day. A big thank you for all the costumes the children wore on the day, they enjoyed the chance to show them off in our assembly. The children also enjoyed hearing a story read by different teachers around the building and the book swap at the end of the day gave the children plenty of new stories to enjoy.
We enjoyed welcoming Father Felix to lead our worship to mark Ash Wednesday. The children reflected on the reasons behind Shrove Tuesday and then shared what they have decided to do to mark Lent. All of the school were then invited to have a cross marked in ash on their foreheads and before joining together in song and prayer.
Well done to the team of runners from years three, four, five and six who took part in the cross country event held in Market Harborough. Running in very challenging conditions, the children did well across the different races with many finishing in the top ten and one of our year three pupils winning their race. Thank you to the organisers and to Mr Williams for leading the team.
We were delighted to host the regional quiz competition again, welcoming teams from two other schools to take part. The teams are made up of pupils from years three, four, five and six with our teams selected after classes quizzes are completed. The children had a challenging but enjoyable time answering general knowledge questions across different rounds. Congratulations to the team from Fleckney Primary School who won with a very impressive total and now qualify for the next round.
